Fictional Crushes
Man, I thought I was DONE having crushes on fictional characters. I thought that ended in like, high school.

APPARENTLY NOT.

When I was in England I borrowed Going Postal from the library (because lord knows the first thing I do when I settle into a place is acquire a library card). Even since I read it, I've been looking forward to the sequel, Making Money. And it's out now. And I'm borrowing it from the library here. And I have such a crush on Moist von Lipwig.

It doesn't help that I found these illustrations of him that make him look totally adorable.
(although most of her art looks like she pasted together various disney characters, with skill if not with originality.)

On a slightly related note, I was reading a discussion about fanfiction, which I'm very on the fence about, and I realized that the second most annoying thing in the "genre" is when people try to emulate the style of the original author. Come on, people.

Eeeheheheeee... Moist.... von Lipwig... Eeee.. :D I'm so immature............ I had to stop looking at the drawings because they make the story look interesting. It's high time I got myself a library card.

Regarding FanFiction: What's the first most annoying thing? Writing in their own character and having the lead fall in love with them?

And: Laura! When are you coming to visit me? :D

You should totally read it! :D And yes, the most annoying thing about fanfiction is mary sues falling in love with the main character, although there is a sub-category of most annoying thing when they have children.

As for visiting, how's the first weekend in May?

OMG YES. The first weekend in May would be PERFECT. Friday night is Gallery Walk (Basically a community art show in Brattleboro. Businesses stay open later... Arts to look at. Free food to eat... Etc!). Saturday night is Termination (OMG I know. I didn't name it.) which is this "goth music/dance night" that my friends put together. It's in this cool old church and the atmosphere is laid back. You're not obligated to dress goth (though wearing at least a black top would be a good idea) OR dance and we don't have to stay the whole night. I just need to make an appearance since it's my friends and all. Then we can go drinking! Or maybe should go drinking BEFORE Termination. ;)

During the day on Sat we can do whatever! I can drag you around and show you what's worth seeing around here. Maybe go swimming! Or hiking! Or both! :D Yay!
