my day was almost humorously bad
I...I think I almost had a heart attack today.

It was very busy, very crazy, two supervisors were out, and our machines kept going down. There are entire chunks of time that I just can't recall.

However, one woman trumped the entire rest of the day when she walked her nasty, poisonous self into our branch. She became upset that I wouldn't give her cash or a balance without her state ID, and then pressured me to hurry up anyway because SHE WAS IN A HURRY AND WAS "ON-CALL." (I guess she seriously thought she was the only person in a hurry?). I can't really re-type the whole interaction out, because it's long and I've already repeated it a lot, but I will pass on this little delightful remark she spat at me:

"Oh, well, what can you expect from someone who only makes 7 dollars an hour? Oh, that's right. Minimum wage is $7.15."

(I've corrected her grammar, because in her hurry to insult me she spoke awkwardly.)

Ugh. I tried to google her, but found nothing. She's obviously not as important as she thinks she is.

Oh, FUCK THAT SHIT. That's the kind of asinine bullshit I'd get when I worked at Honeybaked Ham. People love to take any situation where they're remotely "in power" (or at least they FEEL like they're in power) and twist it around to make themselves feel better. Over at HH, I was at community college at the time and I got these customers who would "praise" me in this horribly condescending way. "Oh, wow! You're going to COLLEGE?! That's great!" FUCK YOU, BUDDY. Like they couldn't believe people who have these jobs care about their futures. YES, I WOULD LIKE TO WORK AT HH FOR THE REST OF MY DAMNED LIFE.
So, fuck her. Just keep in mind that you're learning a lot more about humanity working at these people-places than she ever will, if she's so damned concerned about hourly wages.

I'm sure she knows a lot about humanity, as she's a county employee. She's just decided that she's better than the rest of us.

When they complain about being in a hurry that's when you have to slow down. :)
